Bramble is approximately 20 months old and is neutered, microchipped, and litter box trained and very well behaved (does not chew stuff or pee or poop outside his letterbox).  I have an x-pen I can donate.  He’s more like a house cat than a bunny.  While he’s not particularly fond of being picked up, he’ll tolerate it and be very docile while you hold him.  I think he would really come out of his shell in a home that either has other animals (another bunny would be awesome!) or caretakers who can more consistently spend time with him.  When I took him to the vet to check his health everyone cooed about what a handsome bunny he is and he is in excellent condition.  He could even be a show bunny if people are into that.

People can reach me at (415) 225-5039 or nataliepoltz@gmail.com if interested and feel free to copy and paste this whole paragraph onto your Tumbir website.   Thanks again for your help!!! :)

URGENT: 6 Rabbits Need Rescue/Adoption at Yolo County Animal Shelter

Update: All of these rabbits made it out of the shelter safely, to Rabbit Haven, SaveABunny, and Second Chance Bunnies Rabbit Rescue.

________________________________________________________

Hello,

I am contacting you today about 6 bunnies that came into the Yolo County Animal Shelter yesterday. According to the person who found them, these bunnies were supposedly dumped in carriers in a field in the rural town of Esparto.  We have reason to suspect that the person who brought them in actually owned them, but we can not prove this. They seem to have been well-cared for since their coats are nice, and their nails are trimmed. It is very clear that this is not their first time being handled. All 6 bunnies are just absolutely adorable!

A124756 is a black and white male. This sweet boy allowed me to pet him immediately. He did not seem to mind me petting him and did not back away when I would reach my hand in. He allowed me to lift him out of the cage, but was a bit nervous and squirmy when I did so.
image
A124757 is a brown and black male. He immediately seemed to enjoy getting pet. He did not back away from me and allowed me to pick him up easily. He did get a bit squirmy in my arms but otherwise seemed relaxed once I was holding him.

A124758 is a black female. She was nervous when I first approached, but after I sat with her she allowed me to pet her behind her ears and on her back. When I went to re-visit her she allowed me to pet her immediately!

A124760 is a black male. He also was nervous on my first approach, but after I let him sniff around he allowed me to pet him. When I visited again later he did not run from my hand and allowed me to pet him on his back.
image
A124761 is a gray female. This cutie was hiding in her box when I first went to visit her, but after I sat next to her for a few minutes she allowed me to reach in and pet her. Although she did not come out of her box on her own, she did not mind being pet in the box.
image
A124762 is a white with brown and black female. This beautiful girl allowed me to pet her right away. She did seem cautious and stayed towards the back of her cage. She was loosing a lot of fur when I was petting her. Because of this, I do believe that she is pregnant and close to giving birth.
All of the bunnies weigh about 4-6 lbs.
All of these bunnies are showing potential here, but the shelter is just too stressful for them. We are hoping to find rescue for these bunnies as soon as possible! Please let us know if you can help any of these bunnies by Tuesday, May 6, 2014.  Thank you so much for your time and consideration!

My name is Oreo and I’m a six year old spayed indoor English Spot rabbit (around 5lbs). I’m accustomed to living in a 3’x5’ exercise pen with unlimited access to hop around a living room. I’m docile and sweet and usually shy but can be easily charmed by treats and food. I love to chew on cardboard and unpeeled willow toys.

I am heartbroken to have to rehome my baby but between work and other obligations I have been unable to give her the attention she requires and deserves. I want to find her forever forever home with a loving owner(s) that is educated on house rabbits or is willing to learn proper care. Oreo has excellent litter box habits. I’m asking a $30 rehoming fee but will include everything you need (litter boxes, litter, hay, water crock, toys, pet carrier, 3’x5’ exercise pen with padded flooring). No homes with small children please unless parent(s) is educated on proper rabbit care.   Oreo is micro-chipped

My name is Bubba and I’m an exceptional, friendly and loving two year old indoor neutered American rabbit (around 6lbs). I’m free range and not accustomed to a cage or pen and I’m very well behaved. I have a very sweet, loving disposition and require daily petting and attention. I love to snuggle at least once a day.

Coco is a female about 6 years old.  She is a rex, but small for her size. We think one parent was a mini rex.  She is friendly and likes people.  If you are able to open up your home to Coco, please contact me!  maryhoskins@sbcglobal.net

Bonded pair of rabbits looking for home due to severe allergies (Oakland, CA)

Rorschach and Nikka are a bonded brother/sister pair. They are four years old now, and still full of energy. They were originally an Easter gift for my ex-boyfriend’s niece, and once she grew bored of them (after a few weeks), they were left in their small cage all day. I took it upon myself to give them a better home, and for the past three and a half years they have had plenty of space to run around and play; they even have their own bedroom in my new home. Sadly, I have also been extremely allergic to their hay the entire time I’ve had them. I’ve tried everything; different brands of hay, air purifiers, wearing a medical mask when I feed them, etc, and the allergic reactions have only gotten worse. After much deliberation, I’ve decided to rehome them for the sake of my own health.

I want to make sure these two go to a responsible, caring indoor home. They are pretty low maintenance, have never had any big health problems. They are spayed and neutered, and also potty-trained (although you may have to retrain them a little if they’re in a new environment). Rorschach is the friendlier and more curious one out of the two, but Nikka is very sweet and friendly once she gets used to you.

They get fresh greens every night (flat leaf parsley is their favorite), and love to zoom around their room. If you sit down in their space, they will come over and sniff you for days, occasionally giving you nudges and climbing all over you as though you’re their human jungle gym. I have a huge box of their hay, an x-pen, and some pellets/bedding to give to their new family. Located in Oakland, CA.

If you would like to give this pair of adorable bunnies a loving new home, please email angie.lee730@gmail.com
